Summary
R404A is a HFC refrigerant made up of mixture of R143a, R125 and R134a. It used mainly in low and medium temperature refrigeration applications most of the equipment is working in refrigerated cold food chain. R404A is designed as a replacement of R22 and R502, but due to its high GWP (Global Warming Potential), there is increased focus on lower GWP alternatives such as R407A, R407F. It can be used to retrofit some R22 systems.
